The Oyster Bay Sewer District has been honored with the PERMA (Public Employer Risk Management Association) certificate of recognition for providing a safe workplace for its employees, thereby helping keep workers' compensation premiums as low as possible.
The certification is given to PERMA members who achieve a loss ratio of under 20 percent for their workers' compensation coverage.

"It's wonderful to be given recognition for keeping a safe working environment," stated Oyster Bay Sewer District Commissioner Thomas D. Galasso. "Around here, safety comes first and foremost. This certificate is proof that the philosophy has paid off."
